More About Damian!
My name is Damian Moncada. I am the son of two Mexican immigrants who met working at a restaurant in southeast Houston, Texas. I was raised in a working-class home that was filled by what I like to call “spice” – Mexican culture, Spanish language, and a whole lot of personality. But outside of my house, my upbringing was defined by the Texan and American city lifestyles.
My passion for acting and entertainment started inside my home. It’s something that has called me ever since I was a little boy dancing around in my tighty whities…and a t-shirt – a long one (for modesty, of course). I pretended I had my own show, “Damiansito’s Shoooow.” Thank you, Sabado Gigante. When I went into high school, I participated in choir, theatre, musicals, and plays. And that’s where I felt the most confident.
My acting is influenced by my culture, my struggles, and the people I’ve met along the way. As a two-time cancer patient, I discovered the intensity of emotions and a sense of resilience since I was 18 months old. I also met people of all backgrounds. When I went to college, I was exposed to a conservative, Christian, wealthy society that was familiar (I’m Catholic) yet so different (your boy was broke) from my own life. And then, I’ve interned, worked, and managed inside one of the most important tech companies. Here, I’ve met some of my closest friends, along with influential marketing, tech, and AI pros.
I pride myself in being a professional, working actor and training under the Carol Hickey Acting Studio, Killian’s Workshop, Cara C. Rosenbaum (CSA), and Erica S. Bream (CSA). I am trained in acting, improvisation, commercials, stage fighting, intimacy, the Alexander Technique, singing, and more. This training, along with my life is what fuels me to tell stories.
